We sit down to discuss your needs, select your gem and determine whether your teeth are suitable to apply the gem – we want to make sure the tooth gem lasts! 

We also decide on what position and tooth you would like your gem on.  

We then clean the tooth, apply conditioner, and bond the gem to the tooth using premium professional dental adhesives.

Going forward, we encourage a routine of good dental hygiene to prevent plaque from building up around the tooth gem. A dentist will easily be able to safely clean around the gem.

Tooth gems are semi-permanent.  If all aftercare instructions are followed correctly, the gem will last anywhere between 6-24 months. The natural acidity of your saliva and diet plays a big part on how long an application lasts, as well as how you take care of the gem.

The gem itself can last for up to 3 years! If it falls off, we are happy to reapply it for you.

The whole process from start to finish takes 15-20 minutes.  Tooth gems are best applied on teeth that have been recently professionally cleaned, which we are able to do for you also.

A tooth jewel varies depending upon the size and type of the jewels. We do carry a selection at our dental practice however, please keep in mind that demand is high and some may not be available at the time of your appointment.  Stop by to check out our range and if there’s a particular one that you’d like we can order it in for you!

No! The tooth jewel is bonded to your teeth in the exact same way that an orthodontic bracket might be attached and using the same professional grade materials. This means that it can be completely removed, damage-free whenever you choose.

You can eat straight after, without needing any special precautions. Once the jewel is bonded, you are ready to smile and show it off anytime.

Always ensure that you visit a dentist to remove your tooth gem. Please do not attempt to remove the gem at home, as our adhesives are of the highest standards. A dentist will simply remove the diamond and buff/polish the tooth to remove any remaining bonding materials.
